The Bakehouse Studio is my working studio. Situated in Langholm , it was previously a bakery, but was left unoccupied for over 13 years after its closure, until I discovered and fell in love with the building in 2004. I’ve tried to keep the character of the old building - the old oven remains, along with the first aid kit and, of course, the baker boys bike! Retaining its previous life has been really important to me, whilst also nurturing it to a new focal point of Langholm.
The Bakehouse has a relaxed atmosphere, with an area to sit and relax as well as a show room while the main part of the studio hosts a rainbow of colour where I like to create my paintings.
The Spring Fling is a focal weekend where you can visit my studio and see where I work. In previous years there have been up to 600 visitors over a single weekend, coming as far as America and Europe.
